Hiking amidst the most beautiful natural scenery. Lake Millstatt is nestled between two national parks: the national park Nockberge and the national park Hohe Tauern. All this results in amazing hiking landscapes with incredible views that no other region has. Many hikes start directly from the hotel, with others only a short journey by car or our local lake & mountain taxi. Lake Millstatt is at an altitude of 600m, the Millstätter alp at an altitude of 2000m

HIKING, ANIMALS AND RUSTIC HUTS
Children love animals. And there are plenty of them to discover, to pet and to feed during hikes on the Millstätter Alp. Many huts have their own goat or pigsty, horses in the paddock.... and sometimes a marmot hides in between.

POSTALM- FAMILY EXCURSIONS TO THE HOTEL'S OWN ALPINE HUT
We regulary visit our hotel's own alpine hut at 1400m on the Millstätter mountain in various ways. Together with the carers and many other children, the family hike is a cinch, the bigger ones go directly from the hotel through the gorge or by mountain bike over the high plateau. The hut is rustic and idyllic. Burgi cooks Kaiserschmarrn at the campfire, parents can enjoy the best Brettljausn, numerous children's games in the forest, treasure hunts,....
SLOW-TRAIL, ALPINE OR HIGH ALPINE
Whether you are a high alpine peak climber or a leisurely hiker, whether warm or cold, the Millstätter See region offers all variations. High-alpine hikes on the three-thousand metre peaks of the Hohe Tauern, leisurely in the Nockberge, warm and sheltered in colder weather on the slow-trail. You have the choice!
