Adapted regulations due to travel restrictions

Due to the current situation and the associated travel restrictions, we have adapted our regulations for existing and new reservations, so that you can plan your holiday with us with peace of mind.

Every reservation (existing or new) until September 9, 2020 can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. We will convert your full deposit into a voucher that does not expire and can be redeemed at any time on an alternative date.

Our recommendation: Right now we strongly recommend that you take out a travel insurance policy from Europäische Reiseversicherung. Unforeseen events can always happen and you are therefore financially protected in the event of a short-term cancellation or interruption of your holiday.

Terms & Conditions - Cancellation Conditions

Holiday period 1st of July to 9th of September, New Year's Eve (26.12. to 06.01.) and Easter (Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday)

You can cancel free of charge up to 90 days before the start of your holiday. We will credit your deposit in full for your next stay or transfer your deposit back to you (less € 35.- handling fee).

Up to 30 days before the start of your holiday the deposit is forfeited.

If the holiday is cancelled within the last 30 days before the start of the holiday, we will charge you 90% of the agreed hotel costs or 100% when booking a package deal. This also applies in case of late arrival or early departure.

 

Holiday period 9th of September to 30th of June (except New Year's Eve and Easter)

You can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before the start of your holiday. We will credit your deposit in full for your next stay or transfer your deposit back to you (less € 35.- handling fee).

If the holiday is cancelled within the last 14 days before the commencement of your holidays, 90% of the agreed hotel costs or 100% in case of a package deal will be charged. This also applies in case of late arrival or early departure.

If the cancellation is due to disease, death, accident, significant damage to property etc., the above mentioned would be covered by a trip cancellation insurance. Our staff kindly informs you about our trip cancellation insurance.

Travel cancellation insurance

Europäische Reiseversicherung: If you want to take out a comprehensive travel cancellation insurance (without deductible) with holiday cover, we recommend the Europäische Reiseversicherung, whose premium is based on the total travel price of the booking. We will be happy to advise you.

You can find more information about the Europäische Reiseversicherung here. You can easily and conveniently take out this insurance directly through us and transfer the insurance premium to us with the deposit. Premium: Depends on the total price | Deductible: None. After taking out an insurance policy, a refund of the premium is no longer possible.

Payment and deposit payment

The deposit is 20% of the total price booked and can be paid by bank transfer or by credit card (Visa or Master Card). You are welcome to transfer a further amount in advance at any time. This should be credited to our account by the day of your arrival. A further partial payment is also possible on your arrival in cash, by ATM card, Visa or Master Card.

We ask you to pay the outstanding balance in cash, with ATM Card, Visa or Master Card directly on site by the day of departure at the latest. An accommodation contract in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions for the Hotel Industry 2006, which are customary in the industry, only comes into force after receipt of the advance payment.

Non-commencement of the journey

Insurance from Europäische Reiseversicherung:

 

  • Non-commencement of the journey: The guest informs us as soon as possible about the travel hindrance and sends us a confirmation from the doctor with diagnosis or from the police. We settle the rest with the travel insurance.
  • Premature departure: The guest informs the reception about the termination of the trip as soon as possible and sends us a confirmation from the doctor with the diagnosis or from the police. The hotel costs before termination are paid by the guest, the rest by the insurance. We settle this with the insurance company.

Check-in & check-out, late check-out

Arrival: The rooms can be occupied until 3 pm at the latest. We always try to make it possible to move in earlier.

Departure: On departure we ask you to vacate the rooms by 11.00 am.

Use of the infrastructure on the day of arrival and departure: After consultation with us, you are welcome to enjoy our infrastructure (without meals) earlier (from 8 am and longer (until 6 pm) on the day of arrival and departure.

Late Check-Out: A late check-out in the room is possible for an extra charge and after consultation according to availability. Arrival is possible on all days. Lunch is included on the day of arrival or departure if booked accordingly.

Animals

At the Familienhotel Post: Your four-legged darlings are very welcome in our apartments in the holiday home Friedl and apartment Maierleiten and can be booked on request. We charge a cleaning fee of € 10.00 per pet per night. Dog blanket and feeding bowl are available. We would like to point out that pets are not allowed in the garden, in the wellness area and in the restaurant (hygiene law).

At the Villa Postillion am See: September 1st to June 30th Your four-legged darlings are very welcome during this period and can be booked in certain rooms on request. We charge a cleaning fee of € 10,00 per pet per night. Dog blanket and feeding bowl are available. We would like to point out that pets are not allowed on the lawn, in the wellness area and in the restaurant (hygiene law).

July and August:  We ask for your understanding that dogs are not allowed to be taken along during this time.

The village Millstatt has a manageable size with about 900 inhabitants. The district town Spittal/Drau has 16.000 inhabitants and is 15 minutes away by car. Our region is located away from a conurbation. The village Millstatt has no railway station.
  • Where do our guests come from? The guests of the region come mainly from Germany and Austria. International guests from other areas are seldom to be found, as our region has only small, family-run businesses.
  • Medical care: 2 doctors are within 3 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The nearest hospital is 15 km away in Spittal/Drau.
